The Fledgling Fund promotes social justice by leveraging the power of media to inform and to inspire action. It supports the creation and dissemination of innovative film and media projects that explore an translate the human cost of entrenched poverty and inequity, and the human spirit that can transform it.

The Fledgling Fund believes that film and other media can bear witness to the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, families and communities in ways that statistics can not. It also believes that well-structured and creative community engagement initiatives can magnify a media project’s ability to create a broader understanding of social problems, highlight innovative solutions, and inspire concrete action.
