Budrus - Budrus
Since its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival, Budrus has gone to win top awards at major festivals such as Tribeca, Berlin, San Francisco, Michael Moore's Traverse City Film Festival and the Jerusalem International Film Festival, and is now being released theatrically in cities across the US and in Europe. It has been hailed as "this year's must see documentary" in the New York Times, and has been featured in major media outlets including Charlie Rose, The Economist, Newsweek and the Washington Post, as well as in the mainstream Israeli, Palestinian and Arab press. Budrus has also been enthusiastically endorsed by influential figures such as Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, Nicholas Kristof and Michael Moore, and has been screened before US Members of Congress and other leaders and major activists, helping to refocus attention on Palestinians and Israelis working on the ground towards nonviolent solutions to the conflict. It is also currently being screened in multiple villages across the West Bank and in Gaza, as well as in theaters throughout Israel, sparking debate in the region on the impact and importance of joint Israeli-Palestinian nonviolent movements.
