Sophisticated and funky, Henry Butler is not only a virtuoso jazz and blues artist, but also an advocate for disability rights, whose frustration with the lack of opportunities for visually challenged children leads him to take matters into his own hands. Drawing on his New Orleans heritage, extensive music study and experience making his way in the world as a blind black man, Henry creates a music camp in his native city to give blind and visually-impaired teenagers tools for success. The Music's Gonna Get You Through examines the power of the lessons in music as both master and student face daunting challenges during the camp and in the years following.
