C & E Executive Producers

Executive Producing represents the most long-term and comprehensive relationship we develop with an individual filmmaker. All three Chicken & Egg co-founders participate as executive producers and creative and producing collaborators, each offering their own unique skill set from development through completion and strategic launch. Starting in 2009, every film in our Executive Producing track will receive rigorous consultation with Working Films with the goal of developing an audience engagement campaign and website during the early stages of production.

I Believe In You Grant

The I Believe In You Grant first-in development/seed funding enables a filmmaker to start her inquiry in earnest, to go out and d her “shoot,” to edit a “trailer” or to have a grace time (from a day job) to sit in an editing room and find the heart of the story in the hours of footage already collected, and push development to the next step. In some instances the I Believe In You development grants are a “first-date,” as we explore making an executive producing commitment. We also reserved the right to give these to a filmmaker who needs some bridge funding during the editing/completion process.

Liberty Grant

Liberty Grants enable a filmmaker to stop fundraising, focus on the creative side of completing her film and launch on the festival circuit with her rights and spirit intact. Our first such grants were issued in 2007 for A Walk in to the Sea: The Danny Williams Story and Freeheld.

Celebration Grant

Celebration Grants are for those bold, tenacious, trailblazing veteran women filmmakers who continue to push their genre and craft while challenging themselves and the field. We celebrate them by calling attention to their work, past and current, by providing a grant to their newest project and by creating spaces for them to mentor and support emergent women filmmakers.
